Ready to Adopt? This is our process:
Step 2: Foster Will Reach Out
After our team reviews your application, the foster will contact you to answer any question.
Step 3: Meet & Greet + Home Check
The foster will schedule a meet & greet and a home visit to make sure it’s a good match.
Step 4: Start a 7-Day Adoption Trial
If it feels right, you’ll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee at the start of the 7-day adoption trial.
The 7-day adoption trial does not have to start on the same day as the home visit — we’ll work with your schedule to find the best time.
If the pet isn’t the right fit and is returned during the trial, your adoption fee will be refunded.

Dogs and puppies
All will have the following:
- Up-to-date vaccines for rabies and DA2PP
- Heartworm testing and one heartworm prevention tablet
- Spay/neuter
- Microchip
- Fecal if indicated
Puppies Under 6 Months
$200-400
Adult Dogs
$150-350
Veterinarian care costs have increased significantly over the past few years.
A Barking Chance is 100% funded through adoption fees and donations.
Cats and Kittens
All will have the following:
- Feline Leukemia testing
- Rabies vaccine
- Spay/neuter
- Microchip
Kittens Under 6 Months
$150
- Above plus minimum of 3 FVRCP vaccines and FIV testing
Adult Cats
$125
